SJC is diverse, and allows students to learn through hands-on lessons, and by learning-through-doing. Where else can students study marine biology, oceanography, ecology, etc. right on the ocean? I love living in Sitka. The things I have experienced at SJ have helped me tok grow into a indepented openminded person. I feel that I learned so much, but at the same time what I have learned does not seem like learned material at all. It seems like something that is a part of me, that i did not learn from somewhere, but has been with throughout my life. There are many opportunites to get involved with various activities on campus. it is a small school, and therefore may not have all of the extracuricular activites that other bigger schools might have, but everybody is welcomed and encouraged to participate in the activies and orginaztions we do have. I don't know what else to say. SJ is a great place. It may not be for everyone. But i would not trade my time here for anything. Education Quality: A+, Social Life: F Have a Question? This is the easily the most beautiful place I've ever been. I have the home phone number to all my professor, and they don't mind me calling! Unfortunately, the College is doing a lot of construction right now, but it should look good once it is done. The only thing you really have to worry about at this school are rumor, (only 125 students), cause everyone knows everyone. Even if you aren't and Outdoor Leadership Major, you can still take fun outdoor classes like Kayaking, Mountain Climbing, Snowboarding, Backpacking, and other stuff. I'm a Business major and get the opportunity to work with the Vice-president of a major corporation, talk about great experience. Education Quality: A+, Campus Maintenance: C+ Have a Question?
