| | | | DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT THIS NASTY, BACKWOODS SCHOOL!!!! Auburn is NOTHING but a disgusting prison cell... It is a total waste of life. These idiots care nothing about academics, and all about football. They invest all their money into beating rival football teams, rather than academics. The talk of the town is football and how bad their rival school sucks. That's it... That's all these arrogant rednecks care about. It's all they have to live for and I can't stress how sad it is on their behalf. The town itself ROYALLY SUCKS! There is absolutely NOTHING TO DO HERE! The nightlife is seemingly nonexistent and if you're not into rodeos and mudriding, your life here will be hell. When school is out, the town is out. It's dead and deserted. Auburn University is Auburn, Alabama and Auburn, Alabama is Auburn University. Period. Even when school is in, most of the non-greeks are forced to drive all the way to Columbus, GA, or Montgomery, AL on the weekends simply because there's nothing to do here. One half of the town is ghetto, while the other half is trailer park. Literally. It's a nasty prison-cell -- nothing more, nothing less. Racism is a serious problem here and it's celebrated, much like their football teams are (even though what these idiots fail to realize is the vast majority of their team is made up of minorities whom they despise in the real world). The so-called "students" here are uneducated and illiterate (for the most part). Yet, amazingly enough, hundreds somehow graduate every year. The education is poor, the classes are a breeze, and they do everything in their humanly, inbred power to get you in here, then shun you once you're in. You're lied to from the beginning. Don't make the same mistake I did and stay as far away from this backwoods, racist prison as you possibly can. This whole experience has been merely a frustrating headache, and Auburn University and Auburn, Alabama is almost unbearable. | Preparedness: -, Reputation: - | | | |

| | | This school is so dominated by Greek Life... For the social scene, there is none. Everyone is friendly, but if you live off campus you'll never make any friends at school. If you live on campus and you're not in a fraternity or sorority, you'll never speak to anybody other than your roommates. The Greek system owns this school. So if you don't want to pledge, don't bother coming here, because you'll never be more alone in your life. I've been here over a year, live on campus and don't belong to a fraternity, and I've never spoken to someone at this school for more than one minute. Seriously. It's that bad. I'm also a VERY social person and made tons of friends in HS easily at my last school. But here, if you don't have Greek letters on your shirt, you may as well not exist. Also all there is to do is party on the weekend. If you don't like to get drunk every weekend and make bad decisions, please spend your time and money elsewhere. The town is small and most of the in state students leave during the weekend, but if you like the outdoors there's plenty to do, the school is built along a large lake and there's rowing and boating, and mountains nearby for biking and hiking. There are several bars close to campus that are usually packed on weekends, but if you're under 21 you'll just have to settle for sitting in your dorm surfing the internet. Parties are reserved for Greek students, so unless you pledge, you're not going. I wouldn't recommend this school unless you're from the south, or plan on joining a frat or sorority, because otherwise you'll feel invisible and out of place. | Preparedness: -, Reputation: - | | | |
