It's definitely not aNutrition
It's definitely not a party school. I had a fantastic time. You have to put yourself out there and try new things and meet new people. I was an athlete so that helps.

This place is so boring.BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
This place is so boring. If you're looking to party, you've definitely came to the wrong place. Tons of super sheltered girls that only look for guys that they could marry. Nothing to do on the weekends. My high school weekends were more fun than mine here. Very very strict.

The atmosphere at Samford is quite strange.Quite BrightEducation
The atmosphere at Samford is quite strange. The only type of people who like Samford are a very specific group of people. If you are an evangelical christian from a small town who is afraid to grow up, you will probably love it. The school completely babies you and social events are scarce besides praise and worship. Most social events are things that I would have been exited about in junior high, for example roller skating and watching "Monster's Inc" in the quad. The campus feels isolated from Birmingham and only has 1 library, caf, and workout center that are all quite small. Besides the caf, your only dining options are Chik fil a and crappy overpriced sandwiches and Mexican food. You have to live on campus until you are 21 and currently only 1 residence building is apartment style; so you will prob be eating in that crappy caf for most of your time living on campus. Samford is more like a boarding school rather than a place where on grows into an adult. Most of the kids here are label obsessed, so be prepared to shell out $50 so you can flaunt a Vineyard Vines T shirt around campus. All of the kids here are carbon copies of each other. Preppy Southern Baptists who don't think about much. The girls are all husband hunters too. On a personal note, I am not a liberal atheist hipster. I am actually a upper middle class conservative Christian from the South, but sometimes I feel like an alien in the Samford universe. If you are thinking of attending Samford I STRONGLY recommend many visits and definitely an overnight. Get to know some students and the campus and see if it is for you.
