Positive Negative Neutral Advice
As a working parent with a lot ofComputer Science
As a working parent with a lot of hours at numerous colleges around the country, it took 3 years of nights and weekends to complete the BSCS at the Troy-Florida Region Eglin AFB campus. I was hesitant at first to choose Troy with so many other options but I'm glad I did. I only had one class/prof. I wouldn't recommend. The others ranged from good to excellent.

One of the best points I believe I can tell a reader of this review is that the time it took to complete assignments was appropriate, i.e. just right. That was a HUGE concern prior to enrolling and I'm sure there are a lot of folks out there in the same boat. That is, working 50+ hours a week along with family obligations doesn't leave a lot of spare time. The assignments were on target for learning the material and yes you have to right a paper in every class.Having attended so many universities, getting transcripts sent elsewhere can be a nightmare. Troy is one of only a few I can count on to get my transcript out promptly. As far as prestige, I'd say it's neutral around here. Some of the grads at the nearby UWF like to think they graduated at an Ivy League school. But having taken over 21 hours at UWF I can say that's not the case. Anyway, now that I'm living and working in N. California, no one's heard of either school.

Question
I have good and bad comments.Quite BrightOther
I have good and bad comments. The good, is the fact that most faculty treats you with respect, is willing to work with you and help you when you need it. It is not like take a number I will get back to you after my coffee. The Geeks (Greeks) as I call them do a piss poor job of supporting the athletics. They go above and beyond to actually piss the athletes off by either A. not showing up to games B. showing up to games but then leaving after half time for a stupid Auburn/Alabama game. C. holding their geek games in the middle of the Shakelford Quad and taking everyones spaces. I really liked hanging out with the international students for soccer on Friday. It gave me a chance to meet people from other countries..and not some red neck bumpkin who doesnt know crap. I remember one homecoming game the Geeks did a stupid skit that made fun of the international people. It's no wonder people hate Americans! LOL Some people in the education department (not gonna name names) take preference to certain people and listen to none sense comments from other students. There are also some faculty that are too into themselves that they are rude to the students themselves...(I am talking in the Long Hall area). Finally, alot of people there are very very closed minded and think that their way is the only right way. There are also people who think that some former teachers of theirs are like the gods gift to everything. Right now at this point they arent nationally known..and noone really gives a crap about what they did in the past.

Question
I'm not raggin on Troy University main campus.Quite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
I'm not raggin on Troy University main campus. I'm sure for fulltime campus students, it's great. I will however, tell you that their ECAMPUS program at Fort Benning and the way they handle VA students SUCKS!!!!

The Student Resource Center never return your calls. They are not proactive in helping you and it takes 10-20 phone calls and followups to complete the simplest tasks. and they never apologize.

The distance learning Director, Dr. Whitlock, buries his head in the sand because they have such a huge enrollment at Benning. They are allowed to continue with their crappy level of service to our soldiers. This is not acceptable and that's why I'm transferring.
