FACTS:Super BrilliantEducation
FACTS:
This is actually a great school but it's small, so go here if you're shy and anti-social. There is absolutely no social life whatsoever. Wallmart is 30 minutes away. Coming from a metro-area where I'm always busy, this place is hell.

Everybody is "scene" and "indie." To fit in, have weird piercings. The Greek life is for people who couldn't get in at Bama. People get arrested for drinking frequently.

But, the staff is nice.
The campus is always isolated... People go home after class. Don't live here. Don't live in New Res unless you want to be alone 75% of the day.

Everyone is really Southern. People are weird. But it's a tier one school. It'll look good for colleges.

Question
Montevallo is a small university with all theBrightFinance
Montevallo is a small university with all the benefits that go with that, i.e.- you are a person and not a number. Any faculty or administrator is accessible without having to through any red tape. The campus itself is beautifully designed, and is within 30 minutes drive of the largest city in the state, so there is plenty to do!

Question
I had a great time at UM.History/Histories (art history/etc.)
I had a great time at UM. I was somewhat shy out of high school and I grew up in small towns. So, UM was the best choice for me. The town was small so I didn't feel lost in it. And since the student/teacher ratio was so advantageous, teachers knew who I was. It made me work harder to gain their respect and attention. I became a better student at UM than I was in high school. I felt the whole university worked as a team and I had so many positive experiences there. Living on-campus was better than off-campus. Off-campus, I felt more left out of the whole university experience. I stayed for grad school as well. At the time, not sure about now, the history faculty was top-notch and I am very proud of my history degree from there. I also worked in the Education Dept. and I was impressed by them as well. I would say UM is great for those with liberal arts or education majors, those who want or need more professor interaction, and those who are from and who can appreciate small towns.
