ATU is a great school.Quite BrightBiology
ATU is a great school. The faculty and staff treat you as an individual. It is clear that you are not just a number or a person to get money more from. All of the professors are required to hold office hours and they are in their office during those times 99.9% of the time. They only time they're not there is if they're gone to a conference (which they normally tell you ahead of time that they won't be there) or if they went to the copier. The professors are very willing to answer questions for students. The main thing that sticks out in my mind about the school is the individualism. I am so happy that I chose this school. I've received and excellent education and enjoyed the entire experience. My advice for being successful in college is to work hard now so that you are prepared and work on time management. College is challenging, but there's more free time which can be used to your advantage if you manage your time. Don't go and expect it to be one big party. Balance your time between schoolwork and extracirciular activities. There's plenty of time for it all if you manager your time. Also, apply early for everything so that you have a better chance of getting your choices (housing, classes, etc.) ATU is a great place to go to school.

I think Arkansas Tech is not a veryNot so brightBiology
I think Arkansas Tech is not a very good school, compared to other schools they are lacking in the technology area in some departments. Some of the faculty are racists and there isn't a diversity of people on the campus. Also, did you know how many black professors teach their...hmm...just a thought. I first-hand experienced racism towards me and as well as other students to the point where our work was disrupted. I had a hard time dealing with some of the faculty as well as other students having a hard time as well. Most people from arkansas (not minority) enjoy this school but most people from out of state usually transfer out the next semester. I did transfer to a bigger university in arkansas (as well as other students from ATU) and It was so much better. If your a minority I would definitely consider another school.

Arkansas Tech has been a great educational experience.Quite BrightOther
Arkansas Tech has been a great educational experience. The faculty in the Rehab Science Dept are outstanding: Ms. Marti Wilkerson and Dr. Penny Willmering have went above and beyond the call of duty to teach their student what is needing in the real world of Rehab and Social Services. However, Dr. Harris I believes enjoys giving unneccessary material that is dated and information that is not on his exams. If you want to be totally STRESSED his class is the one to take (any of them). I think the time has come for him to retire. That's my opinion!
