The established professors are great and helpful. They could have done better had they had more money to put on research and program structure. Too bad. Administration is not very helpful. I feel this way partly because I was not treated well at times coz I am international as we have a lot of monetary issues since SAU won't help enough with scholarships even to faithful and deserving students. My Biology program structure was average. Chemistry labs were better. I wish they had research and serious equipments there to give practical knowledge to students. Homeoworks and lab works were challenging at times, but not well structured. If you want to go to grad school, go to a university where they teach a lot of lab techniques. Not SAU. Also, help and resouces and connections for job search are non-exsistent in this university. Its biggest drawback!!!!!!! Magnolia is a dry county. No alcohol. BUt we do have parties ocassionally. No one can stop that. The air stinks sometimes because of farm in the campus. I would rate people at financial aid and Registrar's office as helpful but in a condescending way. President Rankin is reachable but serious issues for helping internationals does not work. Right! who cares about internationls? Apart from this, general people are conservative here. You will have to wear a freaking hunting jacket to mingle with them. Some people are still nice. For internationals: people here become very judgmental before they even try to learn about their struggle in campus. I thank SAU for making me a better person through its encouraging and discouraging nature. BUt I could have gone to 1st tier college had my conditions while applying back home were better. After I went to look at the campus I fell in love with the Agriculture department.My advice to other students is get to know people don't just shut them out. When I first came to school I didn't get out much and now I have something to do all the time. Go to class but friends are what makes life worth while.
