 | Not so bright | It's the Harvard of Arkansas, if you intend on living and working in Arkansas at a high paying job, the UofA is the place to go. Smallest SEC school, with a Tier 1 Ranking. In comparison schools like Ole Miss or South Carolina are Tier 3. At least half the school is from Texas, many of which are obnoxious, arrogant, and drive hummers. Native Arkansans are not too fond of Texas and Texans in general. The running joke on campus is Texans that get rejected from the University of Texas-Austin, come to the UofA, and it's in many instances true. I'm from New York and loved my time at Arkansas. The people here are so nice. Also, Arkansas may be pretty remote, however the people here love road trips and with Little Rock, Kansas City, and Tulsa within less than 3 hours, and Memphis, Dallas, and St. Louis within 5, you will have many fun weekends, not to mention the awesome camping, hiking, and bike trails all over.Lastly, with the creation of the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery the student population is growing enormously...this year's incoming freshman class is the biggest on record. This is a good and bad thing. Good because with more students/graduates the university will gain more recognition, bad because the campus and Fayetteville is fairly small, so crowding is bound to happen. Also, this school is easily one the most well funded schools in the country with all of the money Walmart, JB Hunt, Tyson, and other major corporations and alumni pour into the school each year. In the time I've been here, there have been 3 new buildings constructed, a new parking deck, and student apartment complex owned by the university. | Social Life: A+, University Resource Use: F | | | |

| | Bright | The University of Arkansas really is a great place to get a quality education. Having gone to the U of A for undergraduate, graduating with a degree in History, to the University of Arkansas School of Law, I would not have chosen to have gone anywhere else. The school's campus is among the most beautiful in the nation, along with Florida's, Texas', et al. The school itself is becoming more competitive each year, with ACT/SAT scores rising to levels that were quite far above the standard I had to meet to gain acceptance. To actually gain admission to the school, the most recent rate puts an applicants chances at just 56% for undergraduate. Bottom line is, UA is on the move. | Starting Job: Legal Intern/Internship, Preparedness: A+, Reputation: A+ | | |
