This school was an absolute wast of time. DO NOT CHOOSE COLLINS. The coursework was 5 hours of pure busywork with no challenge. My design teacher critiques students HORRIBLE work as, "this looks sharp!" Not the proper mind of an art teacher.

After moving around I acquired my GED and decided it was time to settle down and work toward something meaningful to support my family. Always having been interested in the film industry and photography I decided to check out local film schools. Upon visiting Collins College I realized it was just the fit I was looking for. The course plan offered the hands on experience and dedicated faculty that I knew I would need to make a go of this profession. After graduating I can tell you one thing...if you're serious about your education and actually want to work to better your future in the industry this is the place for you. If you express interest and take initiative the instructors will go out of their way to give you the tools to succeed. If this school has a problem it's the poor quality of the students that come through those doors. A great majority of the students just didn't want to do the work and expected handouts. The select few that did work toward their future were rewarded with opportunities and job offers. I loved my time at Collins and would do it again in a heartbeat. My only regret is that my time there is over.

I graduated from Collins College in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Game Design. Before graduating I had three job offers for a position as a Quality Assurance Tester. Instead I chose to be a Freelance Graphic Artist, which later landed me an in-house position full time. I now handle all our marketing needs.

The coursework is very challenging and you have a lot to learn, so you need to be prepared and pay attention if you want to succeed. The instructors are legit and know what they're doing and articulate well i.e. David Pinter, Fred Boye, Hue Henry, Jon LeMond.

It's funny because I look at the negative comments posted here and it reminded me of some of my classmates that sucked at the coursework, so all they do is complain. The good thing is most of these retards drop out so you don't have to deal with them that long.

In order to be a good designer you have to naturally aspire to be creative, you can't teach someone to be creative. You either have it or you don't. All the negative posts here are from the no skill hacks that just plain suck and make excuses for everything.

It has hurt my credit history for loans I have not known about. The negativity I have endured for being a minority and taste in art from the instructors made me feel insecure about my work. Today I still do graphic design work but for only non profit organizations and family members who want portraits drawn. I never realized how this "school" changed my life for the worst. When I applied for jobs in my field I never knew why human resources people would laugh but after hearing stories about this school I guess I know now. Today am ashamed of being enrolled at this school. Today I tell people I went to community college instead of this school.
