They are extremely unorganized and far too dismissive of their students. Their dresscode prohibts students to wear anything other than scrubs they issue and if you are a new student you are only allowed to wear oversized T shirts and jeans if youy asso much have a tank top on you are not allowed to attend class so much for getting what you pay for. if you are even considering attending this school please reconsider this. Being thrown out of a class that you have paid for for simply wearing a discreet tank top is ridicoulous and ludacris. Before I signed anything I was told that my "credits" from this "college" were transferable to any college after I completed the program. Now I find out, untrue. I was also told that completion of this program was the same as an associates degree, I find out it's not. Bottom line, at the end of my "student loan", I will have paid out to this school and the government a total of $15,000.00 for absolutely nothing that can be warranted on paper stating that I am Medical Assistant. I will get a little diploma saying that I've completed an MA program at a non-accredited campus. And for icing on the cake, I have to wait another year or two after I get a job (if I can get one) to take the CMA test that will certify me as an actual Medical Assistant. I was told in the beginning that completion of this program garanteed certification. *My advice to anyone and everyone looking for a cheaper route....this is not one. You'd be better off applying for that extra three thousand and going to an actual university and spending a few extra months in school to get that garanteed certification and getting an ACTUAL DEGREE. And if you're still determined to go to Bryman (you poor things) then please READ THE FINE PRINT before signing anything.* Just an FYI about this particular campus: The teachers (most of them) seem not happy to be there. My class has had 3 different lecture instructors in three months. There is no consistancey with instructors or cirriculum, and every day felt like a circus-act trying to juggle what the "school" was going to throw at us. I can understand if this were a job, but it's supposed to be a school. We don't pay for a job, we pay for an education and a degree. The education was literally "sold" to me by an advisor obviously paid on commission based on the number of students they enroll daily. I was pushed to make a decision I was not ready to make. I came to tour the campus and get information about the dental assistant program. I left that day after paying a $50 deposit and enrolling in a $17,000 education. Looking back, I almost feel as though the education was sold to me like a car dealer sells a car-they would do anything to get their numbers up to par. And that was only the beginning... The education I received was sub standard to say the least. My dental instructor had been out of the field for years and was teaching us old fashioned methods that haven't been used in years. And because she had been out of the field for years, some students who already had jobs in the field realized that she was teaching us completely wrong! The medical field is constantly changing so bringing a 50 yr. old woman in to teach who is retired is not going to work! After getting a job in the field, I realized how unprepared I was. One problem with the overall education is that you do not take the courses in the proper order. My first class was DA104-I hadn't even taken DA101-I had no way of understanding anything because I didn't even understand the basic terminology. The reason you take the courses out of order is because this way the school can start students every month because each class is only 20 days long. More students, more money....I was lied to multiple times..I was told credits would transfer, only to find out they wouldn't under any circumstance. I was told that Bryman is the best trade school in the state and that employers look for students from this school-not true...People view Bryman as a big business=not an educational institution. I was also told that I was only allowed to sign up for the degree program-even though I later found out that they offer a diploma program for half the cost, and the same education. But, if you go with diploma, the school only makes half the money. Everything about Bryman is for them to make their sales quota. The students are by far, not the first priority. After coming to the school for 9 months, we were told that we were no longer allowed to use the front door-we, the "hired help" had to enter through the back door-so the new students wouldn't see us...Hello! I am paying to go here and I can't use the front door? There is something seriously wrong with this place. I will do anything in my power to prevent future students from coming here. Students are also led to believe that the course they have chosen is an EXCELLENT choice, yet nothing is mentioned that most of the class transcripts are untransferrable & the sole property of the school! Also minor details are convienently left out, i.e., when dental assistants complete the degree course they are still required to attend an x-ray course for certification. Massage therapy students aren't told that they must pay an additional $185.00 after completing the required clinic hours to obtain their license to practice! Students are given the impression that once clinical hrs. are completed they are able to practice! As one of the "older" students I registered for the AA Degree course for Hospital Unit Coordinator. at the time of registration I wasn't even told there were two choices, diploma (32 wk/$7500.00) or degree (62wk/$17.000). I also had chosen to attend class since it was offered at night so I could continue working full time, yet only 3 days before I was to start I received a call to say that my class time wasn't a night course & that I was to attend 11:15 am - 2:45 pm ONLY!! The school at that time offered 3 sessions (& added a 4th later on) for all of the other courses, yet HUC was taught only at that time due to the instructors demands!! So I had to quit my job & was unable to find full time employment around these hours! Very difficult indeed, yet I had to attend since I had already committed to student loans, etc. By the time of notification I would be fined for early withdrawal!! After attending classes from 1/03-2/04(GPA 3.4), achieving Academic Excellence twice, and completing on 4/16/04 the required externship of 256 hrs.at a hospital facility ,free without pay!!), driving a commute of 50 miles round trip a day I was left a message on my phone that a discrepency had been found regarding the total of my externship hours I had submitted & I was terminated!! TERMINATED!! No calls by anyone from Bryman with questions, my on site supervisor was NEVER asked or questioned about my attendance hours (I called & spoke with her dircetly) even though every hr. I submitted was signed off by her! My instructor NEVER came to the site for either the interim student evaluation or the final student evaluation, she NEVER even spoke with theon site supervisor regarding her evaluation of my performance!! My externship was a joke in relation to what experience I was to obtain as on the job training. My instructor also is employed by a local medical facility and she only placed a chosen few of her students at the facility she worked at & every one of them were offered a permanent position after externship, yet myself & others were placed at the facility where the possibility of employment was absolutely impossible due to state hiring freeze!! This school is a HUGE rip off & falsely advertises itself to be associated with CSi Institute/Bryman Colleges. This campus is privately owned/ran by the owners of High Tech Institute who recently had employees on strike regarding unfair labor practices. I now owe $9,000 in student loans for a degree they are trying to deny me!! Don't waste your time & energy at this trade school it isn't worth the few months saved by not going to the local community college for the same degree!
