 | Super Brilliant | UTI is a good school in a bad economy. I received my AOS from UTI in 2001 and entered the job market as a technician before joining the military in response to Sept 11/2001. This is the bottom line, do you really want to be a service technician swapping parts and diagnosing intermittent electrical problems for 20+ years? If so, UTI is a good place to go if you're willing to work hard. I received the student of the phase award six times, was shop foreman five times, was on the dean's list ten times, and left with a 4.0 GPA, that's the kind of commitment it takes to go straight from UTI into a real mechanic's job. If you don't want to swap parts (I found out that I didn't after all) and if you don't want to work that hard, go to your local community college and study something else. | Starting Job: Technician, Preparedness: B+, Reputation: B- | | |

| | Quite Bright | The people who are giving bad feedback about UTI are the same students who were sleeping in class, late, or were always fooling around. I didnt sleep in class, paid attention, read, got good grades in Labwork and tests and have been offered good jobs. I saw it everday at UTI there were people sleeping and getting mad when the instructor woke them up, get 30% on their test. Then when only pep boys or jiffy lube hires them and pays them $8/hr they blame UTI. Its called school people stay awake, pay attention and make an effort take pride in everything you do and you will succeed. And to employers dont just hire a graduate because they went to college, look at the potential employees transcript and look at the grades (look at our most current Presidents, they graduated college and are not/did not do good jobs) | Starting Job: Technician, Preparedness: B, Reputation: C | | |

| | Not so bright | If you are expecting hands on, you will be surprised when week after week it's all book work. If you have a poor driving record, especially DUI, you may want to consider saving your money and looking into another career which won't require you to drive cars as part of your job. I graduated over one year ago and I am still busting tires at Mikes Tire and Wheel for $10.75 and hour. Think about it. | Individual Value: B, Faculty Accessibility: D | | | |
