The Art Center DesignArt & Design Department
The Art Center Design College degree is absolutely useless to me.When I went back to college, none of the universities recognized it as an accredited school. Therefore, none of my credits were transferable and my B.A. is basically worthless in the eyes of every academic institution.

I've been to a regular university, and ifBrightArt & Design Department
I've been to a regular university, and if you're looking for the typical college experience go to another school. Art Center is simply a small trade school (a good one); some people don't like to call it that. It is what it is; judge it accordingly. The various offices (records, alumni, etc.) are grossly understaffed, so a lot of responsibility is placed on the students to handle things that an average university would handle for you.

Consider that like any school, Art Center has good departments and poor ones. Look at the major you wish to pursue and ignore comments made specifically about the other departments.

A few thoughts on what I didn't like about the school in general:

The parking situation is absolutely ridiculous (get a beater for school)
Class sizes are getting larger each term
Since I graduated (4 years ago), the cost of tuition has gone up nearly 25%. What are they doing with all of that money?

Overall quality of work has gone down
Extremely rude office staff (they need more people to help out)
What I liked about Art Center:

Prestige (let's be honest that's a biggie)
Great school to make connections... if you want to study transportation design, it's hard to overlook how well the alumni are represented around the world

If you're in a strong class, your fellow students are much more instrumental to your growth than any teacherNot every teacher is great, but Art Center has a phenomenal faculty in general

I absolutely think that Art Center College ofDesign Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
I absolutely think that Art Center College of Design was detrimental in getting me the skills and education I needed to obtain the job I wanted after college. In this poor economy, I am happy to say that the broadcast design field doesn't seem to be slowing down at all. I walked out of Art Center with a great portfolio, and was able to get a job within a month of graduation. I have been working steadily ever since that day. I have been 10 years in the field, now.
