Not so bright
I would not reccomend going to this school, however I would say it is a nice school if you don't want to travel a lot. Still, this is only good for transitions between schools, so get out as fast as possible.

AVC is a good school, like other schools, there is good and bad,
some staff is unapproachable, and others are wonderful.
There were a few problems at night but the police will gladly escort you to your car at night if you want them too. There is plenty of student groups to join, there’s the Model UN a political group, the Alliance a group for Gay, lesbian, and straights, there’s a gamers club, there’s a Christian club. I can go on the campus is beautiful, our photography classes take many pictures of our campus, many of which have made it into magazines. The arts department is wonderful. Most of the students are friendly, there are some clicks, and some drama, but you can easily avoid it. Some people don’t like it because they can’t go any where else. With the exception of a few bad instructors I have had good experiences here.

Given my options, and I very happy to attend Antelope Valley College. I'm an art major specializing in computer graphics, and the CG department is VERY strong. The teachers are very knowledgeable in the subject, and computers are all up to date, and the software is industry standard. If graphic art is your passion, you'll learn a lot at AVC.

Besides the CG department, overall I have had a good experience at AVC. All the teachers I have ever had the luck to study under have been very friendly and helpful, with some exceptions in the math department.

Personally, I find that the teachers are more passionate about teaching than the students are about learning. It seems to be the "in" thing right now to complain about attending AVC, but in the end you'll get back exactly what you put in. Pay attention and enjoy learning, and you'll learn a lot. Whine and procrastinate, and you'll do poorly.

Despite being a community college, AVC isn't all that bad. I've come to find almost all my professors have been challenging, friendly, and caring. I've only had one experience with a professor who wasn't any of those. The students here can be rather distant, that's just the attitude. But the people you do meet here are friendly. This school is not perfect, but it depends on the attitude you bring when coming here. I personally thought it was a good experience going here and got my money's worth out of it. Some others disagree, mostly for the fact that they didn't get into the school of their choice.
