What is the big surprise. After all its Texas! The state that hates to pay for edtcuaion. Texas is 49th in the number of dollars spent per student for edtcuaion. Say they are efficent? Check the success rate at college. It is getting worse as the classrooms get larger and larger. Teachers are required to print all information and forms but must buy their printers and ink in addition to all school supplies needed. What a messed up system. I think my dog may have a better chance than some students. So buy your diploma and good luck passing a college level class!!!!!!! What a bunch of redneck idiots in Austin running our government. Vote the rednecks anti-edtcuaion republicans out.

Dread: I completely agree. I have a BS in Psychology and an M.Ed in Intensive Special Education. Guess what I do for a linivg: I'm a computer guy for a school and a Filemaker Pro developer. Two things that have nothing to do with my academic degrees. The best part? I'm self taught in both of those areas.Did I have a great time in college? Oh yeah. Was it a tremendous waste of money? You betcha. IMHO, an 18 year old kid just can't predict what s/he is going to want to do for work for the rest of his/her life. I'm sure some can, but I believe that most can't. Heck, i sure didn't Out of high school I went to Berklee in Boston to become a professional studio drummer. I mean, my God. Was I insane? My advice to any 18 year old who asks will be: Get a job, live on your own, do some volunteer work and see where you're at in a couple of years. I wish someone had said that to me.
