Super Brilliant
I started taking classes at Chico State as a high school student and was frustrated to find that the school was just a continuation of the idiocy of high school, with the only difference being that students can smoke ON campus instead of going a block away from the high school to do so.

The academics were interesting, but not challenging at all. If anything, they were EASIER than my high school classes. I think the school is just going downhill even more because of the budget crisis here in California.

As far as things to do: there is not much innocent fun to be had here in Chico. Even if you go in to college being a sober person, by the time you leave Chico State (if you graduate at all), you'll be a partier and will have killed countless brain cells with alcohol/marijuana.

Some positive things about Chico State are its beauty and its library. Chico Creek runs through campus and the campus is full of trees and flowers. The library is large and extensive with inspiring views of campus and ample computer labs.

My experience at Chico State makes me think that state schools are not the way to go. For a real education, go to a private school.

Not so bright
This nursing program at Chico State sucks! It is very un-organized. Sad to know that this program existed for so long and to be like this. I have never heard from friends in other nursing programs complain about how their teachers run their class or how unsatisfied they are with their nursing program. What is worse, for every two semester there in the program, there are different program director and yet, the program sucks. The teachers cannot teach!

Quite Bright
I decided to attend Chico State because of the lower costs compared to the better schools I was admitted to, but this school is a real joke. The students are incompetent and unmotivated, they only care about passing their courses instead of striving for success. The School of Business's curriculum is outdated and offers very little knowledge in management that is applicable in the real world. In fact, this is the only university that I have found that does not require its undergrad business students to pass Calculus. The school work does not offer any intellectual value, it's just busy work. Also, the remote location of Chico State prevents you from obtaining any useful work experience, leaving you with a degree from the most unprestigious university and no experience. After spending 4-5 years working hard to graduate from college, you should expect more.

The best thing about going to Chico State are the parties, but even they can't compare to most schools.

I understand that all of the comments you read on here are extremely subjective, so I have copied and pasted the most recent e-mail a student sent to everyone in my class asking if school had been canceled all week because of July 4th, which of course was not. This student is not an international student, just a dumb ass! With over a 90% acceptance rate, it's no wonder that the students cannot spell.
