Horribly run school that continually perpetuates a legacy of crappiness.
Was a student at Cal State Easy Bay (Formally Cal State Hayward) for a little more than 3 years. In my time there observed or heard from direct witnesses that the following happened:
-Different people of both the same and different gender engaging in sexual activates in two different public student bathrooms
-Students repeatedly getting food poisoning from two different school cafeterias
-Concessions stands serving old food and being continually understaffed
-Teachers being hired that grade on a scale of “C†and up
-Horrible teachers who gave tests which were logically, and fundamentally faulty
-Some teachers didn’t even cover class materials for whole quarters at a time, and just talked about the daily going ons of their lives to fill time
-Great instructors being underpaid and ripped off in their paychecks. Being denied tenure ship through an administrative scheme to call them “Part-time Lecturers†instead, so as to save the college more money while screwing over it’s fewer good teachers
-The student swimming pool repeatedly not being hygienically up to state code
-The student turf track having holes in it
-Department managers engaging in illegal harassment of student employees
-Dorm rooms being broken into and student possessions being stolen
-Students being physically assaulted and beaten by university staff members in class
-University athletic teams using steroids
-Classes and teachers being threatened in broad day light by gang members claiming they had firearms
-At least two Associated Student Inc. presidents running behind door, illegal deals to either insight violence on campus or illegally bar innocent students from running for class elections -Days where groups of cars in student parking lots have had their windows smashed and stereos stolen. -Wild turkeys which probably had rabbis obstructed traffic on campus. And this is probably not all, it's just what I can think of right now | Preparedness: F, Reputation: F | | |

| Average | As a student with learning disorders I have found being at this school to be very challenging because of my disabilities. Yes I do receive accommodations, but the challegning part come when they are not enought to help you get through a 12 page paper and there is little help to be found elsewhere with compassion. I have founded that this school awareness of students with learning difficulties is small, yet trying to grow. | Perceived Campus Safety: B+, Individual Value: C+ | | | |

| Bright | When I attended, the students were very much "show up, go to class, leave campus". There wasn't much in the way of team building, etc. I understand things have improved somewhat, but not much. | Useful Schoolwork: B, Social Life: D | | | |

| Bright | The college of business & economics is a good program. You can tell by the number of business and economic recruiters that come here for our 3 job fairs ( We get twice as much as SF State). It also helps that the school is the 3rd least expensive California State University. The career development center is great at preparing one to effectively aquire a job. There are only 2 problems with the University. The school administration, outside of the college of Business & Economics, is way too slow processing anything that comes their way. The second problem is that it is a commuter school, so don't come here if you want to party! | Perceived Campus Safety: A-, Individual Value: F | | | |
