I was expecting to have a good experience at CSULB since graduating from JC and I was proven to be wrong in my later years. When I came to this school, the soar people were very unwelcoming and very unhelpful. I could not get the needed classes I wanted for my major and was stuck with a couple of irrelavant classes. The peer advisors were not very helpful at all. Worst off, the events were only for the so-called popular students; therefore, if you were not popular, you were not allowed to join. A majority of the students were very rude and obnoxious. The female students were interested in the boys, rumors, and excuse making as the boys were interested in one major thing-sex and partying. I would be considered an outcast, since I do not partake in what these students do. Mostly, making friends was not an easy thing for me at all.

My major was decent, except for a few professors whom I will not name. They made my classes miserable with their arrogant attitude and put down the other students if they had any other opinions. I did have a few good instructors here, though.

In addition, your freedoms and rights were violated. You cannot even give your own opinion without the students and faculty berating you for your right to freedom of speech. They also tell you what you can't eat, drink, wear, live, etc. That is none of their business and have no right to rob me of my freedom to coexist with society.

On the other hand, the campus (when school is not in session) is nice and the basketball arena is nice.My advice to those transferring who are having the same problems I had is to join organizations outside of this school and make better friends. I did that and I have met a lot of nice people outside of here.

Not so bright
Just recently, I noticed that people are calling those with negative opinions nasty names such as "t-----" and other unkind words. Everyone has their own opinions and have the right to use them under the First Amendment. As an older student from the generations before most of the students, I was outraged with this school. My first days were a nightmare with students who show a lack of respect to others and especially towards the elderly and disabled. The professors were not any better, giving special treatment to their top notch students and atheletes. In addition, the professors were rude and belittling to the older students and the disabled. The sports fans on this campus are downright immature and rude as they think they can get away from the law by blocking hallways and once their bus heading to a CS Fullerton game was blocking traffic. Their fans also curse and cause trouble out in the community. That is irresponisble. There is a lack of class offerings that are conveinent for everyone. The place is in bad shape with constant graffitti all over the place and no one cares to clean it up until a few months later. I expected this school to be a good fit for me, but with the general rudeness from the new generation, professors who don't care and the campus falling apart, I was disappointed and went to another school with far better results.

Poor quality faculty and curriculum. Not a good place to study Computer Science. Faculty are rude and will harass the students.
