| Quite Bright | I was forced to go to this university by my parents since its 5 miles down the street. Beautiful campus. Some really good professors. Not too many challenging courses. 96% of people commute. Most of them live at home, hence no social life. I am an incredibly social person and coming to this university seemed like a great opportunity to meet different people. I did meet and get to know a lot of people but if they are not in your classes, 97% of the time youll never see them ever again and almost 99% of the time, you wont hang out with your classmates outside of school. Parties, really lame. Fraternity parties, I am not a girl so unless I am not a member, I wont be let in. No team spirit. Too many people, sthe resources are strecthed too thin. But it has recently become one of the most competetive universities to get into. For fall 2008, out of 48000 freshman applications, only 5700 acceptance letters were sent out. Definitely go to this university if you live on campus. if not, then..... | University Resource Use: A+, Social Life: F | | | |

Going to California State University has been a wonderful and life-changing experience for me. The campus is beautiful and it is very diverse. I believe it does not matter what University you go to. You as an individual can make your experience wonderful by taking advantage of the opportunities CSULB has to offer by joining organizations, getting involved and volunteering. And lastly, making use of the expensive textbooks that you are forced to purchase by actually reading them and studying well for exams.
Also there are many great professors that has inspired me and changed my perspective of the world. Most of my professors seem very passionate about their field and are great lecturers. The people on campus are usually very friendly if you give them a chance. It is very hard to smile at the end of day after working several hours and going to classes. You don't expect people to smile 247 do you? Like I said in the beginning, it depends on which route you choose when you attend CSULB. The only problem is I don't see many motivated students nowadays. Nowadays its all about going to parties having fun, and cramming 14 chapters in your head a day before the exam which doesn't count as receiving quality education. The teachers have done their part, we just have to do our part! | Education Quality: A+, Innovation: C | | | |

| Quite Bright | First of all, compared to what you get for what you pay, this school has to be number 1. I will be graduating in my 5th year with only $2,000 in debt. When talking to other students about their schools, I find that I am very lucky to have chosen Long Beach State. The people are genuine and friendly, whereas alot of other schools seem like they hold frequent popularity contests. I wouldn't say my GE classes were extraordinary, but all of my Art classes have been. The Art department is amazing and I have grown so much with it. Long Beach is such a diverse and interesting place and there are hangouts everywhere waiting to be discovered. If you choose this school, the only disadvantage is that most of the students are commuters and that we don't have a football team, but trust me, you won't be worried about that once you attend. | Innovation: A+, Faculty Accessibility: B+ | | | |

| Average | Since CSULB is a commuter campus, it's pretty much impossible to really have a real college experience. Everyone goes straight home after class and makes making friends a little bit difficult. It's like going to High School, except it's little less social. The teachers are friendly enough. I can't exactly generalize since I've had both horrible teachers and great teachers. They're all pretty helpful though, if you actually go to them for help. It's great since we have a little teacher rating thing in the end of the semester where you basically tell your teacher what you think of him/her, and how you rate their skills as a teacher, and they read it at the end. | Faculty Accessibility: A-, Individual Value: F | | | |
