Bright
I entered the business management program right after I graduated from fashion design. My AA experience was great. I felt that I gained a significant amount of experience. FIDM helped me find a couple of internships here and there.
This is my final year in the bachelor's program and so far, my experience with this major has just been OK. I like to challenge myself, and some classes do just that. Others, however, not so much. I'm surprised to see students get this far without even knowing how to write a proper paper, or do a proper presentation. I feel as though the standards for admissions need to be higher. Other than that, majority of the faculty are great. Students are generally friendly, and overall, it's a pretty good school.

Quite Bright
FIDM seems like a great school... but I have had a somewhat negative experience after graduation. First of all, I graduated with a 3.85 g.p.a. i tried my hardest and felt when i graduated that I had gotten a lot out of the program. The teachers are professionals, yes, it is HARD, but I enjoyed pushing myself. So my complaint of the school is not that it is difficult, but that ( and this may depend on your major ) they don't give you all the tools you truly need to succeed in the business world, unless you have previous education.

I suggest FIDM if you already have a degree and are looking to enhance your skills. I DO NOT suggest FIDM straight out of High school. It is a very pricey education, (40k) and it is very hard to be taken seriously with your A.A from Fidm in the real world. Besides that, if you want to furthur your education, no state school will transfer your fidm credits, they will give you like an 1/8th of a credit for each 3 unit class.. what a waste of money!

And yes, I was hired somewhere.. after 9 long months of looking I found a job that was a great fit, and 5 months later the economy started to go down, and there went my job. And try finding another job with a resume like that..

I wish fidm took the time to teach more.. who needs to be in and out in 18 months? maybe people who already have jobs, but i felt rushed out and gipped, i didn't even learn all the programs that the industry wants you to know.

Think twice about it, I wish my parents had forced me to get a General Ed degree first.

I attend FIDM in Los Angeles. The school is absolutely the greatest opportunity that I have ever been presented with. There is no doubt that FIDM will take me far and further. The students are very trendy, happy, welcoming, and hard working.
