Question
FIDM seems like a great school.Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
FIDM seems like a great school... but I have had a somewhat negative experience after graduation. First of all, I graduated with a 3.85 g.p.a. i tried my hardest and felt when i graduated that I had gotten a lot out of the program. The teachers are professionals, yes, it is HARD, but I enjoyed pushing myself. So my complaint of the school is not that it is difficult, but that ( and this may depend on your major ) they don't give you all the tools you truly need to succeed in the business world, unless you have previous education.

I suggest FIDM if you already have a degree and are looking to enhance your skills. I DO NOT suggest FIDM straight out of High school. It is a very pricey education, (40k) and it is very hard to be taken seriously with your A.A from Fidm in the real world. Besides that, if you want to furthur your education, no state school will transfer your fidm credits, they will give you like an 1/8th of a credit for each 3 unit class.. what a waste of money!

And yes, I was hired somewhere.. after 9 long months of looking I found a job that was a great fit, and 5 months later the economy started to go down, and there went my job. And try finding another job with a resume like that..

I wish fidm took the time to teach more.. who needs to be in and out in 18 months? maybe people who already have jobs, but i felt rushed out and gipped, i didn't even learn all the programs that the industry wants you to know.Think twice about it, I wish my parents had forced me to get a General Ed degree first.

Question
FIDM had nothing to offer ME.BrightCommunications
FIDM had nothing to offer ME. They technically don't teach anything. Ask me what I learned...nothing. For the tuition cost and the classes offered, I don't think I got what I paid for. I graduated in 2005 with a AA in Visual Communications...now someone please explain to me...what the heck is Visual? I still don't know how to explain it...hahahaIf I could go back in time I would have slapped myself from thinking you could actually get a high paying career straight out of FIDM...I would have gone to a CSU school any day now given the chance...I want to rally up a crowd of Anti-FIDMers to help those poor stupid rich girls from enrolling...we all know that you need no talent to get into FIDM...come on people. Spread the word...
