in 1955, Harvey Mudd College is a small, coeducational, independent,
residential college of science, mathematics, and engineering. With a
student population of less than 700 and a student-faculty ration
of 9 to 1, HMC is able to offer quality
instruction and attention found at no other institution of its
size and emphasis. The curriculum is comprehensive and broad-based;
one third of the academic program is in the humanities
and social sciences. Research opportunities are abundant and are
readily available to all students. HMC is one of
the Claremont Colleges, a unique consortium of five colleges and
