I went two years ago and I would still recommend to people: Do not go to this school. You are better off going to a community college for your first two years. I only went to transfer asap after one year to a much better place (which I did). It's partially true, if you work extra hard you'll probably be able to get into a really good university after 2 years. But I don't know if it's worth the pure torture you get and see at this school. This place is just plain retarded. The students are dumb, unmotivated, could care less about anything except for partying and drugs, really close-minded, inconsiderate and fake. Marymount is SMALL. Of course there were an exceptional few. But the majority of students are just typical stupid kids who don't know anything about life, respect or education. Faculty isn't bad, I had some pretty good and inspiring teachers. Except some are super easy and really shouldn't be qualified to be a 'professor' when they give A's to kids who never show up to class, never do homework and blatantly cheat on tests. Tuition is not worth it. Which is why you should just go to community college. The school is probably 1-2 miles long. Maybe the view is nice, but location is not. Dorms are in San Pedro. Dorms are disgusting because of all the stupid partiers all the time. The money you pay to Marymount is just not worth it. Everything was so high-school. People are just immature. Go there if you want to party your life away, learn absolutely nothing, be at a school that is smaller than a high school and end up becoming the 25 year olds on campus. This school is beneath me.

If you are looking for a school that aims for a quality education, do not go to Marymount College. This school is nothing more than party school for rich kids. Very few people, like myself, are tricked into the delusion that this place is a place of higher education. Teachers tend to cater to party students from rich families, giving good grades to students who barely complete necessary assignments. Administration ignores those who complain about the rampant party scene, which is complete with loud parties in the dorms every night as well as underage drinking and terrible drug use. The housing, which was once family military housing, shows its wear and tear from the insane partying. Conditions are filthy, and transportation is made worse by the fact that the school and dorms are miles apart.

The location of this school is really nice, but the amount I pay for the facilities is not good. This school has to three buses but they choose to use one most of the day. The Library, will loose books in the library and charge you $50. The maitnence will charge you $180 for one blind being broken from your blinds inside your dorm. Also, if you really want to know the atmosphere of this school, there was a student who shot a man outside of our school, the man lived one block from the school. If he can get in to Marymount, any one can.
