Pitzer is better than I expected from any school. The students here are incredibly intelligent, wise, and have so much life experience that it is truly inspiring. Unlike Pomona, students are much more modest about their intelligence. People are generally "chill" in their attitude but SOOO active in their actions. The drug scene is not at all overwhelming and the most there is is marijuana--no "hard" drugs or excessive drinking. Every night/day you can go to a poetry reading or a lecture or play basketball or go on a hike. There is access to crazy big dance parties (usually at 5c events) if you're into that. Bottom line: you will find your place here at Pitzer, and you will leave a better human being.

The "medical marijuana" scene is very, very big here. If this is not a pass time you engage in then it will be difficult to find people to relate to. Some people here take their academics seriously and are more welcoming, others are here on their parents' paycheck and are just enjoying being away from home. Majority are hipsters and are the type of people who do not like nonconforming nonconformists. With all that aside though the academics here are wonderful.

Coming from a big high school I wanted to choose a college that would provide small classes and allow me to have a relationship with my teachers. The Claremont Colleges are wonderful. The five schools combine to give both a "small school" and "big school" feel.
