Quite disappointed with the quality of skills you learned and the complete lack of interest in what you learn by both the faculty and the administration. At this school is about how much money they can make first, who they like as the top person in the school second and the rest of the students fall way down the line. I think the school relies too heavily on their old reputation and have lost contact with the real world of competitiveness in a successful Architectural environment. Their equipment is just starting to catchup with what most schools have had for at least 3 years and now they are behind again as more progressive schools have advanced further beyond their scope. You are left on your own to learn your own programs , there is no lab instructor to help if you are having problems and most faculty is gone once their studio or class is over except for a very few interested teachers. There is much wrong here I do not know if this school is worht the 20,000 a year plus expenses until it opens its eyes and realizes that it has lost touch with the reality of what firms are truly interested in when you leave here.

I am currently in 3B studio which is 3rd year second semester. So far SCI-Arc has provided me with a great amount of architecture knowledge and provided the students with many new innovative technologies that can used at all time. The school has a minimum of 2 3D printers for use, 2 CNC Milling machines available, a HUGE vacuum forming machine, fully equipped wood and metal shop, and great studio spaces with a great view of downtown los angeles high rises. SCI-Arc is a school of innovation and the professors there encourage students to finding new ways of creating form and space.

SCI-Arc has a great culture with our Friday's @ 5 relax party every week and a great series of lectures and exhibitions by faculty and famous architects. The school never makes you feel as if the politics of a university is holding you down. This is a school for free beings with the urge to create and innovate.
