Positive Negative Neutral Advice
If you need financial aid this school isQuite BrightBusiness - Management and Administration
If you need financial aid this school is a train wreck turn around now and apply at USD. The staff is rude, unethical and lies a lot. If you are an older student then definitely turn around. I have never been so disrespected in my life. I can't tell you how many times I was asked if I was a parent or a student. The staff as well as the faculty treat you like you are still in high school and will never be honest enough to admit they made mistake. In one on my classes a student called another student raciest, and the professor did nothing about it.

Question
I am currently in the MIS Department andNot so brightBusiness - Management and Administration
I am currently in the MIS Department and the department chair makes this department terrible. I have yet to get any help from him. He simply hides behind the rules and regulations and is unwilling to assist any students. If you want a quality MIS degree, you should go elsewhere. This guy ruins this department. If they want SDSU to stand out, they should get a different chair. There are plenty better professor in the MIS department that would do a better job.

Question
I hated the psychology graduate program at SDSU.Psychology
I hated the psychology graduate program at SDSU. I felt almost totally unsupported in the program, academically, professionally, & financially. Students are told not to work full-time, but not how to survive on assistantship pay; & expected to work excessive hours in those assistantships. Classes taught me little beyond my undergrad courses, & many consisted almost exclusively of student presentations - highly dependent on the quality of peers' work, & not what I came for. While a few individual professors were really wonderful, most seemed minimally interested in teaching their graduate classes. This program is useful only as a stepping stone to another program- it does not lead to licensure or a degree that is really worth much professionally. The environment seems to be everything negative you have heard about academia- gossip, politics, & back stabbing. I left the program for another grad school: this was not the environment of learning & professional interaction I had expected, & certainly not the type of environment in which I want to take part.
