Sort By: [Date] [Major] [Rating] Business - Management and Administration  Major Salary, Salary Trend, Satisfaction, Unemployment Bright "State" is a pretty average university, I wouldn't really say that it's a great place, but it isn't too bad either. The business department at State is strong and has many emphases. The GE requirements are a bit redundant, so some of the students also attend CCSF (City College of SF) to kill off GE more quickly. State is a just a short train ride (station conveniently in front of SFSU) away from CCSF, and a walk away from a major shopping mall. A longer train ride will take you to SF's downtown and to the Embarcadero... Basically, I'd recommend State if you're a business major, or if you really love San Francisco. It is an extremely diverse campus, with virutally every ethnicity having strong representation. It is located in a major city which offers lots of educational, recreational and cultural advantages... It has all the advantages of a large state school... A large selection of classes to choose from, lots of programs etc... But also some drawbacks. Being a mainly commuter school, it can be rather hard to meet people and socialize... Teachers, however, are surprisingly accessible for such a large student population. The campus itself is unnatractive. Its buildings are functional, not esthetic, and there are not enough green areas. There are many clubs and student organizations ranging a wide variety of interests... Academics can be challenging, and some teachers are creative in their own style... But at times one can feel like a number instead of a student. Too many required GE classes in my opinion... Overall a satisfying college experience... Not much to rave about, but it's pretty good.
