 | Quite Bright | San Jose State is known by all as a "commuter-school". Everyone in an adminstration position seems to hate their jobs and are EXTREMLY rude. My application was lost... I should have seen this as a sign. The history department is small, and sadly does not get the same resources such as cumputer science or engineering. Some professors do not to take any intrest in their students. They seem to be dissapointed in their careers. History students are usually older and have no problem monopolizing classroom discussions. As a transfer student, I was very disappointed with San Jose State and its history department. The cafeteria is good. | Perceived Campus Safety: A-, Individual Value: D | | | |

| | Quite Bright | I really dislike this school. I'm a first year freshman and I'm transferring after this year. First of all, this is a COMMUTER SCHOOL. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, dont go here unless you plan on commuting. The college social life is near non-existent because everyone goes home on the weekends. Well, I take that back...if your idea of fun is getting wasted every night, then this is definitely the school for you. The faculty is ok, ranging from horrible to great. It's the luck of the draw. There is a serious lack of student participation in clubs and organizations, unless of course you go Greek. Academics don't seem to be taken very seriously here, I always hear ppl joking around about how bad their grades are and how many "extra" years theyve been here. I could go on and on, but I know you don't want to read that. No, Im not simply a pessimistic person. I can honestly say I gave this school a chance. But after my terrible experience I cant honestly say I will go back. | Education Quality: B, Extracurricular Activities: F | | | |

--lots of good programs to help students succeed
--room to change your major
--gorgeous campus, wonderful weather --many different cultures --addmissions and records department is horrible and can mess up several things for students, affecting their classes, grades, and abiltity to change majors. This is the number one reason I've seen for people to transfer.--mailing system is also horrible and it could take a very long time to recieve a letter from the school, or to even recieve an important letter at all. --Overall SJSU is a wonderful school as long as the student is willing to put in the effort to deal with Admissions and Records, and is proactive about paying fees, registering for classes | University Resource Use: A+, Scholastic Success: D | | | |
