| Quite Bright | The engineering department in SJSU is top notch. I've been to several companies around the bay area and they always prefer to hire SJSU alumni because they know the engineering programs are practical and not theoritical like UC Berkeley or Standford. I've worked with engineers that have graduated from Berkeley and Standford and they were never taught surveying, concrete-asphalt mixing, indeterminate steel analysis, etc. SJSU is a commuter school since everyone throughout the bay area travels there, so don't expect your class mates or friends to socialize much. | Useful Schoolwork: A+, Individual Value: D | | | |

Deciding whether or not to go to San Jose State? Let me help with the following short comments:
SJSU is the reason why I'm very well todo financially today. My major was in Engineering and I had 30 job offers upon graduation. I picked the right company with lots of stock options, cashed them in immediately after IPO, and made a fortune.
Great friends. Many were very smart especially those from other countries which there were a substantial amount when I was there. They helped me in my study habit which unlike the American students, is ineffable. To say they studied hard is an understatement, but don't let that scare you. As long as you're willing to work hard, you'll be ok. This applies only to CS major and probably most Engineering majors. I heard the Biz and Psych majors are pretty easy.
Great looking coeds!! I really do miss college now!!
Stunningly beautiful campus. Places you should stop and visit are campus village, the tower and the library. I have seen many dorms of many other campuses, and none comes close. Very luxurious. It would probably cost millions if you could buy them given the real estate value in Silicon Valley. If I have to say something negative about the school it would be the admin; it is not that great; . Typical of DMV like service. Don't bother going to the financial aid service. That's why I never try to go in there and apply for anything. Didn't need financial aid. Bought my parking permit online or via the phone. Overall, I highly recommend sjsu. I wouldn't be here today with my current lifestyle without sjsu. | Education Quality: A+, Faculty Accessibility: B | | | |
