I am attending the RT program here in Visalia and it has been a nightmare to say the least. The work isn't that hard, but the constantly changing standards are. On top of that, we are required to take the CRT before we have even complete all the courses of study. When I intern at local hospitals, the resident RT's all comment on how unstable the instruction is at SJVC. At least 60% of what is instructed you will have to relearn when you go to a hospital. It is clear the school is more about making money than anything else. And what is being donw about it? Nothing. Absolutely nothing.

I am in the RT program and am really happy it is almost over with. I also am graduating on the Dean List. But it was a horrible experience that I would not wish on anyone.I have a friend who went to another program some where else. And even though they had some problems she had a life and was really happy with everything she had acheived and learned. But seeing what my fellow students have gone through and the fear most of the students had of the instructors, I would not recommend this course for anyone. Most stuck with it because we had taken second out on our houses, or have loans. But several did not make it and it was horrible the way they were treated.I would never set foot on SJVC again. And would never recommend to anyone to attend SJVC.

Enrolled in Respiratory Care program. I procrastinated attending local community college because too many required classes that don't apply to real life. Classes are much more of a challenge here than I expected but I have a 4.0 GPA so far. I definitely recommend this Respiratory Care program but students really need to be intelligent and work hard to pass. No easy grades for just attending classes. Another problem with the community college program is the waiting list. I would rather pay more for a program and start right away than sit on a waiting list holding my breath. The local community college has a 1 year waiting list and lottery for enrollment. Who wants to wait a year for a maybe. Not me.
