I'm in the dental hygiene prgram, which yes is very expensive compared to other community colleges. But before you get turned away from the cost, look at the numbers and stats of dental hygiene students passing the sate board at the other college. The numbers are very low, while SJVC has great records on student success. It is extremely hard to get accepted to this program, but it is a great program and I would never want to go anywhere else. I just know about the dental hygiene program, but nothing about the other programs.

think twice or as much as you can before attend this school in Visalia, california. Staff and faculty are not helpful at all, they are so selfabsorbed for what is good for them.

This comment regards the pharmacy tech program. I have three words for anyone thinking about enrolling: SAVE YOUR MONEY! I did get an associate's degree. It cost me $17,000. The job market in the central valley for pharmacy techs is abyssmal. It does not exist. There are no jobs. I have tried for over a year to get a job in the industry and cannot get one even 100 miles away! Please, please think before you join this program. I cannot speak for the other programs there. Employment assistance was a crock. Their "connections" come out of classified ads. I wish I would have gone into nursing now. The demand is there. They tell you that they don't want you bad mouthing the school, well I am. Stay away. Save your money. The instructors are burnt out pharmacy techs who are looking for some "variety". They have all have an AS. That's it. I was not impressed. I see the commercials on tv and want to vomit at all the money I wasted. I could have gotten the same piece of paper at West Hills for a fraction of the cost. If you don't believe me, try calling around to every pharmacy in a 30 mile radius of your house to see if they're hiring. I bet you $50 bucks they're not and don't plan on hiring any time soon. I have all the "skills" they say I need to get a job. So where the heck is it???All I can say is thank God I can type and file. At least I have a mediocre job and can start to pay my bill now.
