Not so bright
The Respiratory Dept at SJVC Visalia in the most part is only concerned with public perception and self promotion. The company lost an instructor and clical director due to the most part from the despot Mrs Lee (Mooney). Ms Christine Foster has been caught in many untruths and will fabricate stories to make herself look positive in the eyes of Mrs Lee. Mrs Lee has and still does change the rules and regulations to suit her agenda. This is obviously not to help the students learning atmosphere or needs. The study materials Mrs Lee provides for the Neonate class are muffled, garbled and cut off during the lecture. Why is there such a abnormally high turnover rate of instructors at the Visalia site? If you get a chance, ask a student to go onto the school site. You will notice very few if any announcements from the Visalia campus. They are mostly from other campuses. I have overheard Comments by Mrs Lee and MS Foster such as "all we have to do is get the students past the halfway mark to keep their monies." Ms Foster also caters to young male students during her classroom instruction periods. There is a bright light at the Visalia campus. That is Ms Walters. She goes out of her way to share information and help you the best she can. She holds the RT dept together. Her hands are pretty much tied as to what she can say or due, for fear of losing her job. It is a sad place in the case of students. Fear is the only motivation the RT dept instills in everyone involved. Practically every practicing graduate of the RT program I have met has commented "privately" about the sad situation at the Visalia site. Greed and profit are the only motivation it seems!!

Currently the LVN to RN is running pretty good due to the fact we do not have the crazy instructor Ms. Sampson. But we have her for the next semester which means at least 5 more people will some how not make the grade since she seems to take great joy in this. Advice for the money go some where else. You really can do better for less money and better support.

The RT program is a discrimination lawsuit waiting to happen. Mrs. Mooney is constanly rude to students. I have overheard her conversations with faculty stating how she believes that students neeed to be 'taught their place' in the system. The school obviously shares this philosophy, or it would be impossible for any faculty member to openly voice her negative opinion of the student body in such a way. She continually gives conflicting directions to 'test' students and she always smiles when she sees someone stuggling. Mrs. Mooney believes this guarantees a higher quality of students. She is dead wrong. It guarantess that more and more students will leave SJVC or avoid it and/or file suit until they lose their credentials. I fully intend to file a formal compalint with the college followed by a lawsuit with ACCJC/WASC. Until then, I am content to let them keep building a case against themselves. Look at the reviews. Is it any wonder nearly all are female. I wonder how many are ethnic?
