I transferred to Scripps from a huge UCQuite BrightBiology
I transferred to Scripps from a huge UC school. I can really appreciate that I am not a number going through a factory at Scripps. My advisor is like my second mom, people are incredibly friendly and not so cutthroat-competitive. The campus is gorgeous and I always feel at home. I'm self-designing my own major and doing pre-med, involved in student government, have started two clubs, and am involved in the outdoors club at Pomona and Scripps has allowed me to do everything I've wanted. It's a great place and the resources are incredible!

I love Scripps deeply.Quite BrightPolitical Science
I love Scripps deeply. After the first year I realized that I made a perfect choice in college for me. The faculty are always available at any time and attending office hours can mean the difference between a A- and A in a class. Everyone is totally approachable from the President to the maintenance staff. I have become friends with many of the dining staff and many other workers on campus. Scripps is for girls who are motivated, dream big, independent, open minded and ready to change the world.

Scripps is an amazing school and there areQuite BrightSociology
Scripps is an amazing school and there are a lot of pluses. I did end up feeling kind of claustrophobic by the second half of my time there, but I didn't study abroad so I felt that desperation to get out of that little community more than a lot of my friends who spent part of junior year out of the country. I wish I could have gone to Scripps for two years in order to grow-up and get liberal artsed out, and then transfer to a larger university, but of course I would never have done that and left my beloved friends. Downsides: Scripps' bureaucracy can be kind of infuriating and sometimes the rules are patronizing (all the other Claremont colleges have a lot more freedom in terms of having friends in their rooms, having parties, etc.) Also the Claremont colleges are cliquey and a little weird, so it's not at all a given that you're going to have male friends. It may require some work and an outgoing personality. Positives: Safe, quiet, clean, amazing classes that will blow your mind if you're a devoted intellectual not all that concerned about developing job skills ASAP. I'm in a master's program at University of Chicago now and I have to say I think I worked harder as an undergrad at Scripps, so the college will serve you well in terms of whipping you into shape.
