When deciding where to go to school, I was torn between UC Davis and UC SantaBarbara. I am so glad I chose Davis. Davis is the perfect school to go to. It provides the perfect balance between a social life and study life. The competition for grades is not cutthroat, however it is competitive and students DO study when they need to. I say this meaning that if you wanted to stay in for a weekend, you would'nt feel bad because there are plenty of students who do. On the other hand, if you wanted to go out on a monday night...people are all for that too! Davis is the perfect school for anyone, because there are all different kinds of people here and ANYONE can fit in. This school has TONS of excellent resources. Essentially, Davis is the best UC out there.

When I came to Davis my freshman year I came to be on an athletics team. I decided to attend a school that excelled both academically and athIetically. Immediately I became involved in campus life and fell in love with what Davis had to offer. Before I came here the only comments about davis that I heard was the boring social life it had and I found the complete opposite.

Our university has much to offer. We are now officially a division 1 school, over 65% of the student population participates in club and IM teams. There is also over 400 clubs on campus at UC Davis, and if you can't find the club you want to join, like maybe a chess club, you can create it yourself. Davis gives the students the opportunity to choose who they want to become. The greek system is not the only way a person can become involved. Mostly you just have to branch out and discover new things, which is what college is all about.

I did my undergrad in Ag Econ and got an excellent job straight out of school in consulting with a top firm (Accenture). From there, I returned 4 years later and did my MBA where I was hired on straight out school to IBM and not to mention I had 5 other job offers. I was told at Accenture that they hired from UCD because we knew how to ?work? and ?collaborate? better than most.

My experience was excellent. You have to ?work? the school and take advantage of all it has to offer. If people did not enjoy their experience then they let the school ?work? them in my opinion. I have been more successful than my friends who graduated from Yale, Cal, UCLA, and UCSD.

It comes down to whether you want to embrace your education or not and UCD has every opportunity available. The city is wonderful and safe. The faculty are amazing and the amount of research $$ that pours into UCD is incredible.I have NO regrets about my education choice and I am PROUD to be call myself an Aggie for life!
