I used to love this cool when i first came and was a drunken freshman. Now I can't stand it and want to transfer. IV life gets old very fast. Hard to make real relationships. I am leaving after this quarter.

Overall, UCSB is in my opion one of the best schools in the country. Yes it is no Priceton or Havard but it is still very well nationaly ranked, being the 47th best school in the nation and 14th best public (i think. Besides the great quatliy of academics people here are happy and definatly know how to have a good time. Students here know how to study hard when they have to and party hard in their free time. The overall student population is quite bright and are very good at managing both social life and academics.

The party secne is definatly pesent dont be fooled by what they tell you at info sessions and tours we are defianly a party school, but while we party hard we all seem to do pretty well in school A,B and C's i dont know any people that faild any classes cause of partying.

The location is amazing the beach is a walk away, IV yea its kinda dirty but its is the best college town i have ever seen, take it for what it is andyou will love it, and downtown is amazing with a lot to do if you get tired of the IV party scene. Overall, the realxed, friendly, beach atmosphere is a great plus to have while going to school, i feel so lucky to be going here, its amazing

This school definitely fits the party image, so if thats what you want, then go to UCSB. For students who are actually focsued on their academics on the other hand, dont come here. Huge impersonal classes, people rarely appear to be studying or serious about their schoolwork. The people here aren't amazing. Ive met some nice girls, but all in all ,it definitely fits the stereotype. It seems that there are two types of people here. 1. people who dont wanna be here at all and plan to transfer or 2. people who want to be here more than anything to party and find the academics really really challening, barely got in. so yea, its up to you, but i am definitely not impressed!
