| Quite Bright | I absolutely LOVED UCSC. Loved so many things about it. The campus itself was gorgeous-green, ocean view and deer everywhere. The professors rocked! They were so helpful, knowledgable and went out of their way to help the students if needed. I learned so much at this school. It made me want to attend school forever. The students are not as hippiesh as everyone makes it sound. There are probably only 5% "hippie" types. Also, what college doesn't have weed around? I think the ppl who wrote comments like that just bought into the stereotype of UCSC and perceived that image while attending. The people are awesome and town is fun for college kids. People are mostly down to earth with inevitable exceptions. The schoolwork was challenging and not just a bunch of exams to regurgitate and forget info like it is at CSU Schools. I would go back in a heartbeat if they offered my major. I miss UCSC so much. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Extracurricular Activities: C+ | | | |

| Quite Bright | They grill you. Students help each other learn. Professors are very knowledgeable. More power electronics would be appreciated. This place is heavy on all aspects theoretical and practical related to optics and networks. In other words, more electronics than electrical engineering. | Education Quality: A+, University Resource Use: C | | | |

| Bright | I loved UCSC! It was a beautiful campus, most are friendly, the town is pretty fun but mostly for college kids. The faculty were awesome, professors were helpful. I learned a ton and would go back at the drop of a hat if I could. | Faculty Accessibility: A, Extracurricular Activities: C | | | |

| Average | As a transfer student, I was not out of the house on my own for the first time, so I was looking for 1. Quality of Education, 2. Accredited Engineering and 3. Campus fun factor. I surf and snowboard alot, and I was challenged with the upper division coursework. Good engineering resources and labs in the new building(s). I met some lifelong friends while in SC. I graduated in 06, I make over $100K with a big company in LA. | Education Quality: A, Extracurricular Activities: C | | | |
