I was recruited my sophomore year of high school and had my heart set on going to Vanguard from the very beginning. Music is my life and the scholarships they give out let me keep it that way. The gen ed professors are amazing and will be great influences on your life. Most of the faculty in the music program are brilliant and deserve more than they get. However, there are some that are very high in power that you should avoid..but can never avoid. I left due to abuse of power, authority and the manipulative nature of one in power. Students are viewed as valuable to this one if you are freshman or are a great asset to them, otherwise you are then a rag doll by sophomore year that they can throw around and take advantage of. As I said, this is only a few of those there. all other professors are worth staying for if you can get your schedule just right.

When I first transferred to Vanguard, I had high hopes for the University. My counselor, Jason, made the school seem like an amazing and wonderful school. To say the least, I was ecstatic to attend Vanguard. When I first arrived, the school made it really easy to make "friends", but once the first week is over, the friends you made seemed to disappear. The student leaders, act all high and mighty, and treat other people VERY poorly. The president of the school, a complete idiot, she has no idea what she is doing. Campus safety, they take their job WAY to seriously. Ryan, the resident director, very rude, he has his favorites of course, but treats everybody else like crap. The people on campus very rude. I was trying to make friends, but nobody seemed to care. I was very disappointed with the school, glad I am leaving. Oh, and the business office... TERRIBLE!!! Find a better college. One that is not 39,000 a year, just for a poor quality education.

Residence life is horrible! They favored some students and screwed over the rest. One semester here and I''m out. The staff was rude and not helpful at all.I came for the Christian community but it was far from that. I'm not the only one leaving there are so many it's kind of sad. Also Business office sucks. My friend went the whole semester not knowing she had to pay $4000. She had some scholarships and was not notified of anything.
