Overall it's a great education. Very tough! You're expected to know your stuff. Animals lives depend on your competency. The only changes I would make would be to make the school larger, or reduce the number of students accepted each quarter, and more hands on experience. Which is tough with such large class sizes. It is fairly expensive and there are other schools out there that are considerably cheaper, but the education you receive makes up for it.

Bel-Rea is a great school, but it is very hard. Be prepared for lots of studying and not a lot of extra personal time. Having a job is difficult because a lot of time and energy is required for school. However, despite the lack of a social life, this has been a wonderful experience and I am learning more than I ever thought possible. Highly recommended for those serious about a career with animals. Not recommended for party people or those who aren't fond of lots of studying.

When they tell you, it isn't a high paying job, listen and decide if that is what you really want. It truly is a labor of love more than anything.
