A school for kids with rich families to get petroleum degrees. Do not plan on meeting women or having fun here. If you are extremely nerdy, play video gams, have no social skills, no concept of hygiene, and watch star trek marathons this is the place for you. Otherwise you won't fit in.

If you are thinking of coming here, don't. It will be the worst years of your life. I cannot explain how many ways this school will try and make your life harder, almost as if the administration WANTS you to have no chance of life outside of school. While it is true this school is in the absolutely beautiful state of Colorado, you WILL NOT be able to take advantage of it, at least if you want to pass classes.

If you want to have healthy relationships, whether it be with a girlfriend or boyfriend or friend in general, you will not. The women here are the meanest, most stuck up, bitchy, rude, and entitled that you will ever encounter. I do not even bother talking to them anymore.

I am an active participant in greek life. If I did not have the support and love of my brothers, I would not be in this school. I would leave immediately.Addiction is common. Suicide is more common than other schools. Depression is rampant. You will be trapped here, and you will not be able to transfer due to a lower GPA than most schools. If you get out of it with a degree, good for you, because you WILL be successful...but you will not be sane, you will not want to see the school again. You will be lucky if the school hasn't stripped you of any passion you had for your profession.

The social life is horrible. The girls suck. There are a few house parties, but they also are pretty horrible. If you like sitting in your room all day playing video games and think girls have cooties you'll love it here. All my friends hate it and stress loads are through the roof. A lot of the school drinks a lot just because it sucks so bad.

The teachers are pretty horrible. Often I sit through several lectures and think this is really hard and don't learn much at all. Then i sit down for a few hours and go through the book and realize how simply it really is. Its almost like they teach you horribly in class so you teach yourself out of the class. A lot of my friends came here because they heard it was good, and the app to get in had no fee and no essay.

The academics and job market seem pretty good though. People keep telling me its amazing. Hopefully it is, and thats really the only reason i'm still here.

Pretty much, everything sucks but the academics. A lot of people are weird, and golden is a city for old people and crackheads. There are 3 bars in the city which people often go to, but they still suck. Adderall is huge here. Myself and friends often stay up for a few days during finals to not fail them. If you hate yourself its a good school, otherwise I recommend going somewhere else for engineering. Unless your doing an Earth sciences related field (Petro, Geology, etc.) pick a different school.
