I would never have changed my college experience at Fort Lewis College. From the start to the end I have felt challenged! I think that college is what you make it and FLC really allows students to make their college education as successful as possible. I feel through my major, English Communications, the experience I have been able to be apart of has really advanced my knowledge in this major. As well as prepared me to work in 'real world' experiences.

When it comes to most of the faculty most are phenomenal in their fields and are educators trying to do their best. The administration on the other hand aka financial aid, records, admissions. I find highly incompetent. And thats having gone through several other institutions of higher ed. Advisors either have no idea what they are doing, or their hands are tied either by a poorly planned computer system. Also the communication between departments is about the same as both political parties. Don't expect much is coming in as a transfer. Start to finish your good.

If you are comming here only because of a scholarship I suggest either go to a junior college or any other college you can get into. I came here because of a football scholarship and it was the worst decesion i ever made. The football coaches have no idea what they are doing hence they havn't had a winning season since the 80's. As for the school it is very run down and even though they remodeled the life center and have some new buildings the majority of the school is the original buildings from 1911. My dorm was very run down, and the maintence staff was very rude and helped themselves to walk in my room and throw my personal items in the trash if i forgot to put them under the sink. It is a nice area and the mountains are captivating for about a week then it hits you and you're miserable the remainder of the semester. The faculty are generally nice but one of my professors barely spoke English. If you are out of state it is a horrible decision to come here because it is extremely overpriced for what you are getting. The quality of education is mediocre, and the faciliies are horrible, and for what they consider a really nice dorm it is way too expensive and is what would be normal at another college. The free tuition for native americans is what runs down this college the most; those of us who have to pay over 30 grand to go here pay for them to go here basically free which is not right. For this college to become somewhat decent it needs to get rid of the free tuition for native americans. Fire its football coaching staff who constantly talks crap on anyone who doesn't play or if the team loses. The party scene isn't even there. They are boring and get old very fast, and is the same old thing every weekend. Don't expect to have fun here, and finding an attractive girl is like finding a diamond in the rough. I would HIGHLY reccomend go anywhere else but here!!
