I was enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program at FRCC for two semesters. I did not stay in the program longer for a number of reasons. For one, the teachers do not seem to enjoy teaching. I did have a tendency to feel a bit rushed during lab sessions. I figured, hey I paid to be here, why am I being rushed so much? I was also shocked by the lack of hands on training. I figured that Colorado State University was just a few blocks away. We should have had way more hands on experience over there. In school, we only did two or three blood draws. This was no where near enough to get the experience you so desperately need. I would not recommend this program. I regret so much that I wasted my time and money here.

I absolutely would not recommend the veterinary technology program at FRCC Larimer Campus. Sue is a very nice teacher, but everyone else could care less whether you come or go. To them, it is more important to teach you to do things fast rather than doing them right. You are just another number to them. There are other vet tech programs in the state and out of state you can attend. I would strongly recommend not wasting your time and money here.

FRCC is a huge attraction only because it has more than one campus around the Denver area. This can be convenient, but I have found that the smaller campuses have instructors who could care less about teaching. Most instructors only have a Master's Degree and some have less than that. Most instructors want it their way. Many times I have been told to ask other students for help, even when I can see the instructor is doing nothing. Too much time is spent on answering irrelevant questions. I have been marked down on assignments because the instructor failed to give all of the rules for it. I will be transferring to a four-year college and know the instructors have a lot more time for helping students, even after hours.

The school is a 10. The flowers are beautiful in the front. From the first moment I walked in, I didn't feel judged, or like someone was looking down their nose at me trying to make me feel dumb. I was impressed with the people in the admissions/financial aid office. They were very couteous and informative. This is not a school of snotty people. Friendly people outnumber the arrogant, self absorbed people. Front range is a comfortable enviroment. Teachers promoted everyone being encouraged to be their best. Everyone is treated equal at this school, unlike some colleges and universities, who prioritize giving atheletes everything and leaving "other" people behind.
