 | Quite Bright | I made the bad decision of changing my mind at the last minute and coming to Boulder. I think I would be happier almost anywhere else. This reminds me of high school, dominated by cliques and self-absoprtion. People do what they need to just in order to get by. Alarming number of kids who fail out because of partying, which is ironic because the social scene really isn't that good. Don't come here. | Education Quality: A, Individual Value: D | | | |

| | Bright | I have attended Colorado for two years. Boulder is a very nice town and Colorado is a beautiful place. The campus is really nice. The main complaint I have about the University is that its way too big. Almost all my classes my first year had 300-500 students. I am transferring and I can only think of one or two professors I could ask for a recommendation (just because none of them would recognize me). I don't really like the atmosphere among the students; most are not at all concerned with school and rather snobby. So basically, if you want a rich party school this one is great (I don't mean to sound rude, a lot of people want that). If you want a more personal and educational experience this is not it. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Individual Value: F | | | |

| | | I know this looks long but please read it I'm trying to prevent you from making the same mistakes I did. I wish I had known a year ago what I know now. This time last year, I was a happy-go-lucky high school senior committed to CU Boulder just 30 minutes northwest of my native Denver. A big school with lots of big sports teams located in one of my favorite cities to party at; plus 10 of my very best friends were also committed to, so I had nothing to worry about except enjoying my last semester of high school and summer with my friends going to other schools. To be perfectly honest, I didn't give college much thought; that was my first mistake. I applied only to CU and CSU, and the determining factor was really which school was more "prestigious"- let me tell you I would give ANYTHING to be at CSU. All my friends that went there are EXTREMELY happy. So, I sold myself short in the hunt for a college and settle for Boulder. First two months of school I managed to go to a party at least 3 times a week, which got my grades in a hole that I couldn't get out of. I also roomed with my best friend from high school. Everyone said, "Don't room with your best friend you'll hate each other." And I simply ignored them all, thinking our friendship was invincible- not true and now we hate each other. I have also seen the "real" people all of my good high school friends actually are and I don't like what I see. That's just on a personal level; don't go to the same school as all your high school friends because COLLEGE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE HIGH SCHOOL with all the petty drama. It's hard to make new friends here because everyone forms clicks so quickly. A lot of popped collars here. Not that many genuinely nice people. I'm not impressed with my classes or the administration or the medical center. All in all, CU Boulder has been a miserable experience, don't come here, you WILL regret it. Take your time picking a school. I'm researching schools very carefully to transfer to next year. | Preparedness: -, Reputation: - | | | |
