| | Average | CU is your ideal school if you care more about the aesthetic quality of the campus and "prestigious reputation" than having a meaningful experience. Playboy ranked CU as the #1 top party college in the nation and no matter how much you deny the validity of this source, it is right on the money. I like to party but it's not my life and it gets old after a while. On mondays, you'll hear conversations between students on campus about how many shots they took or rails they snorted. It's very hard to make friends with students because the class sizes are incredibly huge and if you're not all about "ragin' your face off" at dubstep concerts or if your parents are not filthy rich, then you'll feel very alone up here. On the other hand, once you progress further into your major, I assume your classes will be intellectually stimulating. I'm stuck in cores because I'm doing psychology but at least the professors take academics seriously.Don't make your final decision to come here based on the campus tour, do it for academic reasons because good people are hard to come by up here. | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Education Quality: F | | | |

| | Quite Bright | Boulder is obviously a gorgeous school, you really can't get much better in terms of scenery. However, I came from out-of-state prepared to have the time of my life, but have definitely been a little let down. In my opinion, the party scene is NOTHING like it's told to be. The frats are not that great. If you're a freshman guy, be prepared to be rejected from entering any of them. Some people I've met in Boulder have been the nicest people in the world. Others have been the rudest. The stereotype about rich unfriendly people is unfortunately a little bit true. The easiest place for you to find stuck up girls is probably in the Greek system. And this is a completely unbiased opinion because I am PART of the Greek system. Even though a lot of the girls are rich and snooty, some of them will be the sweetest people ever. If you're considering rushing, choose your house wisely. I've met a ton of bitches outside the Greek life too....overall its a beautiful school. its in a great place and even though the party scene is WAY overrated, its still fun and there's stuff to do. if you love skiing, snowboarding, and long boarding, you will be at a school where 95% of the people share that interest!! there are some amazing people there, but not everyone is friendly and approachable. kids go hard too. MIPs are passed out like candy. girls tend to be easy. frats guys tend to have girlfriends they cheat on. but its a chill place. i just want to warn you not to get your hopes up on this place if you're coming from out-of-state like me! definitely go over your options a few more times! the out of state tuition is honestly NOT worth it if you're deciding between CU and a good in-state school! but remember, no matter where you go, college is mostly what you make of it and in a school of 30000 people, you're going to find people like you no matter what! | Campus Aesthetics: A+, Education Quality: D | | | |
