The USAF Academy prepared me very well forBiology
The USAF Academy prepared me very well for Active Duty. Most Academy graduates will have a step up in the first 3 years over their ROTC and OTS counterparts. The Academy has also prepared me for the finance world. When you graduate from a Service Academy, you have a work ethic that is unmatched by graduates of other institutions. Most kids from regular colleges are ill prepared for the real world but a graduate from the Academy, for the most part, is financially and mentally prepared. The only bad thing about USAFA is that it carries more weight in the west than it does in the east. However, if you are dealing with serious professionals, they will know about USAFA, so don't fret if you get this feeling that people don't know where or what USAFA is in comparison to USNA or USMA. All of the big milestones in my professional life thus far have been attributed to the Academy. I am very thankful I went there! Would I do it again? Probably not because it was very challenging and the hardest years of my life, but I am thankful I went through it.

Question
This institution gives you an Ivy League education,Quite BrightCivil Engineering
This institution gives you an Ivy League education, a job, and leadership training. You get paid to go to school, will live in the dorms, are guaranteed a job after graduation, and will get to serve your country after commissioning. You will, occasionally, have to play the politics game that goes along with school, but if you can navigate your way through all of it, it is worth the hard work, late nights, and patience. No student loans, an engineering degree from one of the best schools in the nation, a job in this economy, a commission as a Second Lieutenant, and I?m serving my country? it was worth everything I had to put up with.

Question
USAFA in my opinionNot so brightMechanical Engineering
USAFA in my opinion is superior to all other schools in the nation. You will not get a prettier place or a place that sets you up for success as much as the USAFA. So many experiences you will never forget. Be prepared to have your mental and physical limits reached. Start doing pushups NOW.
