I attended Mitchell 40 years ago while it was still a 2 year school. I am so sorry to see all the negitive reviews. I agree with the consensus that many students found their way here by one way or another, often by not making a great success out of high school. However, many of those people did go on to prestigious schools and successful careers. After leaving Mitchell, I went on and earned a bachelors and masters degree and became a V.P. for a fortune 500 co. I believe the teachers at Mitchell had alot to do with this. I found them engaging, interesting people in addition to being wonderful teachers. The students I met here were the most wonderful group of people I have ever met in my life. No other school, no other group of people were as interesting, inclusive, intellegent and exciting. It was without a doubt one of the most magical, wonderful times of my life.

hrough my experience with this university, i could not and will never advise anyone to attend Mitchell College. As said in previous posts, living on campus is toxic. The vast majority of students here are not here for an education. In stead, what you will expect to find in the dorms is much like what you will find on the streets of New London. Drug addicts and dealers are on every floor, thieves around every corner. I even got my Xbox 360 stolen out of my *locked* room, told the school about it and am still waiting to hear if they pursued it.

But besides the toxic environment, lack of challenging course work, and terrible enforcement of law; Mitchell College does one thing better than any other school out there - taking your money. In fact, Mitchell College is so good at taking money, they could have a class on it. But lets give an example. I was showering my first week here. Someone decided it would be funny to pour nacho's on my in the shower. Obviously this made a huge mess. I told the authorities (Resident hall director) who it was, and that i my witness saw him too. Instead of pursuing the individual and charging him to clean it up, the RHD decided to charge our entire floor (myself included) for the clean up. That was the first week of school, and since then our floor has been charged at least $10,000 in damages. I cannot change my room, i cannot change my floor or anything, and therefore am stuck with the charges. It is because of these charges that Mitchell College is losing more students than they are gaining.

In short - dont come here. Its hell. If you want to lose your money and be harassed for an entire year than this is the place for you. If not, then stay away. Community college is much better. Go to Tunxis and get a real education at a fraction of the cost.

Mitchell College is the worst school I have ever been to. There is absolutely nothing to do, all everyone does is sit around and do nothing all day. There are only two shuttles that run only a couple of hours only on Wed. and Sun. If you are at a certain stop when the shuttle stops running then you have to find your own way back to campus. The food is very nasty, it makes everyone sick and throw up. The teachers are good and very helpful, but as far as the RA's and the RD's go, they are mean and do not help anyone. And the campus safety on campus is a bunch of BS, most of the campus safety are students under 21 who do not know that the heck they are doing. They have a bunch of old people on campus safety who just fall asleep in the guard booth. There is only one guard booth on campus and it is on the upper side of campus. So that means if you were walking all alone in the middle of the night back to your dorm they would not care. Most of the people who work there are really snooty and Aholes. The people are also very mean and like to start fights. I swear this college is a rehab for the mentally disabled or people who just got out of juvie. I would not recommend this college to anyone. THIS COLLEGE SUX!!
