Do you research before you decide to attend this school. It really isn't the place to spend four years of your life. The school is controlled by a strange religious group called the moonies. The school is in a dangerous part of CT. There have been numerous violent acts have been committed against students both on and off campus. All schools have problems but this school is definitely horrible.

The University of Bridgeport has potential to be a great school. However, if you care about your education now, I would choose else where. I haven?t experienced my first college party yet, but I don?t really have that overwhelming urge to party. It seems like such a trivial thing to desire when I have so many other opportunities. I?ve met people from France, Romania, China, Ecuador, New Jersey, NYC, Long Island, and compared to Maryland it is so different! I absolutely love talking to people about where they came from even if it is a place like New Jersey because it is unique in its own way. Diversity is in abundance and I am embracing it for all it is worth!

I?ve come across groups of people that I have chosen to avoid for various reasons, but I still embrace their individuality because it is what makes them a person. The University of Bridgeport is certainly not the greatest of all institutions, but it certainly does have its perks. I?m talking about things such as diversity, location, and size.

As far as academics are concerned I would NOT choose this school. Look somewhere that will give you the ability to learn and challenge you! The University of Bridgeport does not offer that sort of curriculum, which is most likely due to the unmotivated students that attend it. Expectations are that of my high school.

My opinion of the music department is not a positive one. On a scale of 1-10, with a one being superb and a 10 being a joke, I?d give it a five. Why a five? Well, it is great for a person who is starting out. I see it as a great middle school music program. The classes are small, the atmosphere is delightful, it is a very individualized program, but it lacks the aspect of a challenge. Then again, to a beginning musician it may very well be a challenge. However, to someone who has played for several years it may be best to look elsewhere. Personally, I enjoy the ?coziness? of the program, but I want more. I feel like paying to go to a college that leaves you still yearning for more out of its program isn?t a good fit.

Though the music program isn?t satisfactory, academics are worthless, and the immediate surrounding area is far less than ideal, I still like this campus. I?ve made some wonderful friends with all different backgrounds and aspirations. All in all, not a terrible school, but it is one that certainly needs work in many areas.

UB is a great school. It is very diverse which allows you to learn a lot about other cultures. There are excellent paths to take here. Great internships and job availabilities as well. You can make a lot of connections here. The classes are informative and best of all...the professors actually care about their students!
