I am currently a freshman at this school class of 2016 and I would have to say this was the worse choice of my life. To begin with this school was a backup, as it was for many people at the school now. I am transferring out thank God. But please do not go there. Yes you will most likely get a scholarship, as does everyone. That is how the school gets you to go there then once you go, you want to live and you mostly likely can't depending on your major because the credits won't transfer for no reason. The school is very expensive for no reason, the dorm are horrible, greek life is wack. No school spirit. If you are looking for the typical college experience with parties, school spirit, and greek life at a big or medium school then this is not for you.

The University of Bridgeport had many financial difficulties. In fact, it was on the verge of closure. However, the school managed to survive, and it is now flourishing as it once did decades ago. It still has many improvements to make, but the academics, athletics, and facilities are getting better every year. For example, the women's gymnastics team and the men's basketball teams are great Division II programs, and they win many championships. I believe the women's gymnastics team is trying to become a DI program (it may even happen soon).

Some of the better academic programs at UB include: Dental Hygiene, Chiropractic and Naturopathic programs, Criminal Justice, and International Studies. There are many wonderful professors in these programs who care deeply about their students, and want to see them succeed in life.

The University of Bridgeport still has to make a lot of improvements, but if you are accepted to this school, and if you make the effort to get to know your professors, fellow students, and join clubs, you will be very happy here. In addition, if you excel academically, you may even pursue graduate studies at a top-rankied university, such as Harvard or Yale. Many students from UB have gone on to pursue graduate degrees from Ivy league schools. UB truly is a gem in the rough, and it has the potential to become a great university. I truly believe that UB can only get better.

I have a security guard as witness to Marcia Lorentzen of the Dental hygiene department lying to cover her co-workers in purposely failing me.She was supposed to "thoroughly" check my academics with my rotation instructors, but she couldn't name 2 out of 3 instructors correctly. The DH department is the worst place in UB. I actually dropped out of college because of them. If you call campus security and ask for Lt. Loehn ask about what happened 2013 January with a gentleman expressing his emotions. Bet he would word for word repeat the mentioned above. My teachers would tell my class of 50 other girls of my smoking and drinking habits, make jokes of it personally but they never did it to the girls. This is by far my WORST investment in my life, second to setting money on fire, I probably would have at least known why my money is gone
