in 1831, Wesleyan is a small, private, nonsectarian university of
liberal arts and sciences for men and women. It is
among the most selective in the country. A “big-small school”
of 2,700 undergraduates and a full time graduate enrollment of
150, Wesleyan combines the welcoming, noncompetitive atmosphere of a small
college with the research facilities, instructional caliber and faculty of
a much larger university. With more than 45 majors,
Wesleyan places strong emphasis on independent study, small group tutorials,
original research and study abroad. Wesleyan has a long-standing tradition
of bringing people together people of different social, ethnic, geographic
and economic backgrounds. Students of color make up 30% of
the Class of 2004. Located just two hours
from New York City and Boston, student activities form the
core of Wesleyan's social life. Division III athletics and top
notch arts facilities support a vibrant campus community, where 95%
of students remain on campus during the weekends. Location/Contact WESLEYAN UNIVERSITY 237 HIGH ST MIDDLETOWN, CT 06459
