This university provides really good academics. However, people here can be selfish and selfcentered to not like you. Plus, the women here look like men, but otherwise dateable.

Definitely not worth the $40,000 per year. Students are extremely self absorbed and spend most of their time either complaining about the living conditions (which are the best in the country) or about superficial problems... but then again, what do you expect. It's a private school. I spent most of my time with other transfer students who were much more open minded. In the end, the academics were good but useless since there is little to no help finding jobs after graduation.

GW is in a great location for internships and that is why I decided to come here. Then I realized so many awesome respected schools are not in cities and the students cant get internships as easily here, but these schools are still more respected. Williams, Swarthmore, Amherst, Darmouth, William & Mary, Brown, Grinell, Dickenson....these are just so great schools that come to mind that are not in cities but they are considered much better than GW. INTERNING IS NOT THE BE ALL END ALL.

But I just can't take the student body. STUDENTS ARE RICH, MATERIALISTIC, SHALLOW, NOT INTERESTED IN INTELLECUTALISM. Im middle-class and I dont care too much about my clothes being up to date--and that makes me a freak here.

GW girls are so materialistic it has gotten on my nerves. I want to go to a good school that will educate me, have a reputation that supports my success and has a friendly community. GW is NOT FRIENDLY.

There are of course nice people but so many are into drinking and money. I just want to have fun and learn and be myself. I feel so out of place here. Even though I do have 15 close friends through dorm life, classes and student activities and a boyfriend I want to marry I am still LOOKING INTO TRANSFERING.

the school hypes itself like it is so respected and it isnt. If I am going to pay this much MONEY to go here I would like to at least be in a friendly place where learning is important.

I think the students are too obsessed with careers and not learning.
THE SCHOOL COULD NOT CARE LESS ABOUT ITS STUDENTS. SOME KIDS GET IN JUST BECAUSE THEY APPLIED EARLY DECISION AND DID NOT NEED FINANCIAL AID.

If you can pay full price GW will let you in. As my time as a work-study student working in the Admissions Office will attest.

GW can work out for you and it has and does for many BUT BEWARE.
