I have been attending Strayer University for a year and a half. When I started I was very impressed with the curriculum they offered there but after I was there for a few months they started adding more classes that had nothing to do with my major in Accounting. As a matter of fact in the year and half I have been there I have yet to take an accounting class. I have had 5 sociology and 2 psychology classes a science class that was suppose to be basic science and ended up being physics and chemistry. I had been out of school 33 years and never even took those classes in high school. Needless to say I flunk it because the online teacher was worthless and would not help us. I filed many complaints about him and went through all the proper channels to appeal this grade. I had a GPA of 3.90 before that class so that just shows I wasn't a slacker this classes made me lose all faith in Strayer. They would also schedule me for classes then right before the class would start they would change the class without telling me. I am going to withdraw from this college and would not recommend it to anyone.

Quite Bright
Strayer is an amazing school for me. I understand that some students have had bad experiences, whether it be just taking the online courses, on campus, or both. I am 100% online, and my husband was 100% on campus at one point. Though sometimes I feel I am paying too much for an online degree, most of the time I am happy to be in a school that works for me and is challenging. My husband felt the campus professors were not intelligent and were rather closed-minded.

With that said though, my personal campus in Maitland, FL has done a serious house cleaning, and it seems to be MUCH better than when I started a little over a year ago. The students are required to write one research paper per class, regardless of the class. The professors all seem to be interacting a lot more and are definitely creating more classwork and challenging discussions! When someone points out that an online degree isn't for them, that's fine - it is DEFINITELY for me - and I feel that I am a better Mother and person for obtaining my degree in the comfort of my own home!

Not so bright
I am a business major at Strayer. The school is supposed to help facilitate the working adult attaining a degree. The only thing they have made clear thus far is that they are in it only for the money!!!! I was two classes away from finishing my degree. It had taken me a little more than two years because my obligations during the day were outstanding. I would sometimes have to take a quarter off. Well I found out they change the curriculum about every two years...and guess what they said I had to take 8 classes to finish. What happened to the classes I had taken? The same school I received my classes from would not accept their own transfer credits!!!!! Now to receive my degree I have 8 more classes to pay for or my $25,000 already invested is down the drain!!!!!
