 | Bright | Delaware State University is a very disorganized university. The finacial aid department does not answer calls, is not helpful, and is constantly making errors. Student Records is not helpful or friendly either. In both of these departments I am not just talking about the clerks but also upper management. Many of the buildings on campus are in poor condition on the inside. The ceilings leak, the windows are broken and the heat and air conditioning systems are so loud that it interupts class. There have been a great number of sexual assaults on campus. There has also been a shooting in the campus apartments. | Education Quality: C, Collaboration/Competitive: F | | | |

| | Quite Bright | I love Delaware State University with a passion. When I graduate I will not hesistate to give the school money. What I love about my major is that we are a family. Although two of our key players left. The new television professor, is the best and is breaking her back just for the students. The students are friendly, and there are not and the sociol activities are great. They also have activities about awareness of what goes on in the community as well keeping up with current events and politics, and being proud of our heritage. The school I attend is an HBCU and it was the greatest choice. Although security can be a real pain in the neck and our new president could be a lot more approachable and well mannered. Other than those two things it is the best | Faculty Accessibility: A+, Surrounding City: B- | | | |

| | Super Brilliant | | Let me preface what I am about to say with this: I do not share my opinions of DSU with Caucasians. I am a native Delawarean and it has been my experience that the Caucasian community as a collective whole does not respect DSU in the least. So, with that said, I sincerely hope that readers of this review are part of a minority racial group. I spent five miserable years at DSU. I attended Catholic school my entire life and the atmosphere at DSU was quite a culture shock. In general, the student population was not focused or friendly and the staff at DSU is absolutely unbelievable! They are rude, ignorant, and generally incompetent. Faculty and staff alike seem to get offended when asked a question...as if they are not there to serve the student population. The utter disorganization of the school is enough to make one want to transfer to another institution. Actually, I should have transferred, but I decided to stay and finish what I started.DSU did not prepare me at all for life and/or career. I honestly cannot think of 5 things (academically) that I learned at DSU. The school itself was like a holding cell; in fact, students commonly refer to their academic career at DSU as "time" as if it's prison! Attending DSU has actually hurt me severely; potential employers see the school listed on my resume and they actually hold their breaths to keep from laughing. Every single interview I have gone on since graduation has involved the interviewer asking me questions like: "Wow! So, you went to Del State, huh? What was that experience like? I bet it was crazy!" or "Delaware State? Isn't that the 'party school' in Dover?" It's humiliating and hurtful because I never attended any parties at DSU and I never engaged in any type of misconduct. However, there is a huge stigma attached to attending DSU. So, my best advice is to stay away from this school. It's a disgrace to the HBCU community. Don't waste your money or your parents'. | Starting Job: Collections, Preparedness: F, Reputation: F | | |
